MENTORING PROGRAMS

Arrow

Beyond Therapy Group offers Mentoring Programs, a personalized development program designed to meet your specific needs.

You will be matched with a dedicated mentor who will support your growth and progress on a weekly basis. Our tailored approach ensures meaningful progress and real-world application.

DESIGNED FOR YOUNG ADULTS AND TEENS

All programs are overseen by our licensed clinicians and founders, Rodman Walsh, LMFT and Reid Hanlon, PsyD. We believe in collaborative care and will assist our Mentors and clients to provide the best care and support possible. Each client and/or family will receive a complimentary consultation with one of our founders to place them with the appropriate Mentor to meet their needs. Our Mentors all hold certifications or training in case management/counseling, psychology, substance use and addiction.

This is the most comprehensive and experiential support we provide to you, as we see concierge-driven case-management services as an integral part of your development during these challenging stages of life.

Our mentors provide guidance, perspective, structure, accountability, and support as you strive toward your goals and aspirations. Your mentor can help you navigate uncertainty or ambivalence while helping you devise a plan moving forward. Our Mentors will also collaborate care with any other specialists or clinicians that you are already working with.

GET OUTSIDE AND EXPERIENCE CHANGE

Sessions don’t have to be confined to the therapy office—they can be an immersive experience that extends into real-life activities tailored to your interests. Whether it's surfing, hiking, attending twelve-step meetings (where applicable), walking along the beach, or meeting up for coffee, we believe growth happens in all environments. There are so many possibilities in the South Bay and beyond.

These activities provide an opportunity for meaningful conversations, reflection, companionship, and skill-building in a relaxed, natural setting where you are comfortable. This lends to developing social skills & tools for success while enjoying experiences that support your well-being.

More Program Information

Each program duration is 4 weeks, and you will meet with your Mentor twice a week for 60 minutes (some activities may be closer to 90 minutes depending upon the decided activity). Sessions will take place in-home or in the community for an activity such as surfing, hiking, beach walks, coffee meetups and more! Mentors will also communicate and schedule weekly parent calls where and if appropriate.

The program can be renewed at the end of each monthly cycle. We typically recommend 3-4 months for most clients as we see the best outcomes with this structure. This can be discussed or modified with your Mentor at any point in your program.

The Mentor will coordinate the schedule and communicate with you and/or your family to ensure guidance and adherence to the program. Our Mentors can also provide additional materials and resources based on your individual needs.
